Former PDP Guber candidates, 150 Kwankwasiyya decamps to APC in Kano

Among top political gladiators that returned to the fold of APC are three former governorship candidates, including son of the late former Head of State, Murtala Ramat Muhammed, Abba Riskuwa Muhammed, Saliu Sagir Takai and A.A Zaura, as well as 150 members of the Kwankwasiyya movement.

Also joining the party was the North West Chairman of the Kwankwasiyya faction of the PDP, Muhammad Abubakar Jada, as well as coordinators of Kwankwasiyya movement from Osun, Ekiti, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

Receiving the decampees during the June 12 democracy day celebration at the Kano Pillars stadium, Sabon Gari, Kano, APC national chairman applauded the decision of the former PDP members and assured that the party leadership will not discriminate or denies them equal right among the old members.

Buni, who was represented by the APC chieftain in Jigawa State, Faruq Adamu Aliyu, praised the dexterity of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in handling the party affairs and deepening good governance in Kano.

Earlier, Ganduje had used the celebration of the June 12 democracy day to advocate national unity and integration to attain development and growth Nigeria truly deserved.

He believed that Nigeria is better to remain stronger as an indivisible entity with differences and diversities that should be capitalised as strength to move the nation to greater height.

On the challenge of insecurity, Ganduje reminded that governors across the nation have resolved to support the Federal Government efforts to finding lasting solution to the menace.

The governor also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for considering Kano as one of the critical states with presence of Federal Government projects.

The state chairman of the APC, Abdulahi Abbas also praised the President for his efforts in fighting against insecurity and other crises bedeviling the country, saying Nigeria would have by now been overwhelmed if not for his effort.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is doing his best and must be praised for his effort because if it were someone else the country would have since been overwhelmed.

“Due to the expertise of the President, Nigeria is now doing well and I assure you that the country will be better by December this year.

“The Acting Chairman of our party, Mai Mala Buni has shown his worth with his performance so far, especially with the calibre of people that are now joining the party, three gubernatorial candidates and a member of the House of Representatives,” Abba said.
