Former LG boss jailed six months over property ownership
An Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court yesterday sentenced former chairman of Ado Council, Mr. Taye Fasuba, six months over unlawful entry into a property and malicious damage.
Senior Magistrate Omolola Akosile, in a judgement delivered on Monday, found Fasuba guilty in two of the three charges before the court and jailed him six months with an option of N40,000 fine (N20,000 on each of the two counts).
Police prosecutor, Insp. Monica Ikebuilo, had told the court that Fasuba, who was special assistant to former Governor Ayodele Fayose on union matters, committed the offence on January 14, 2018 at Moferere area of Ado-Ekiti, in the Ado-Ekiti magisterial district.
She said Fasuba unlawfully entered into the land, which was in possession of one Catherine Ashowo, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 81 of Criminal Code Cap C 16 Vol 1 Law of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2012.
