Fire razes Kaduna radio offices

Five offices at Freedom Radio in Kaduna State got burnt at the weekend with properties worth huge amounts of money destroyed.

The Head of Operations, Abubakar Jiddah Usman, who confirmed the incident said the fire started around 2:30 am from the inverter room from where electricity is supplied to the transmitter. The inverter room houses the station’s electrical equipment.

The five offices affected include were the engineering room, head of marketing room, conference hall, security and drivers’ rooms.

The station went off air temporary before it resumed transmission around 10:45 am Sunday, according to the management.
