FG should devote resources to grooming youths, says Amao
The Federal Government has been advised to devote resources to specifically groom youths in the area of science, technology and Information Communication Technology (ICT), so that they could be prepared to compete globally.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of youth empowerment and restoration initiative, Vision 2020, Principal Consult, Lonadek, Dr. Ibiola Amao, was optimistic that Nigeria would be a leading economic super power globally in no distant future.
The weeklong training, for secondary school students from public and private schools, was aimed at preparing participants for leadership position.
Amao, a civil and structural engineer, turned human capital developer, said participants were selected by their head teachers, before being screened by her organisation from which 45 were selected.
The Public Affairs Manager, Sasol Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, Toyin Cameron, said her organisation decided to be a major sponsor of Lonadek’s Vision 2020 summer coaching because of its objectives, which is in tandem with Sasol’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
