Fayemi flags off N3.3b water project in Ekiti
Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has flagged off the N3.3 billion urban water sector reform project jointly sponsored by the World Bank and the state government.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti yesterday during the flag-off of the 251-kilometre pipeline distribution project across the state, he vowed to provide the residents with potable water before the expiration of his term in office.
The governor charged Ekiti people to always protect public utilities in their domain from vandals.
Fayemi said he started the initiative in his first term to ensure water supply to every part of Ekiti.
The governor warned that activities of vandals and laxity of beneficiaries of the water supply to pay their bills could mar the project, urging the people to guard against such for the sustainability of the programme.
