Farmers raise concern over renewed hostilities in Niger Delta

All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Delta State Chapter has raised concern over alleged renewed hostilities in Niger Delta.

In a petition to the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, signed by Elder Eugene Jacob, the group warned that should Federal Government fail to address pertinent questions of youths restiveness, militancy and unemployment in the Niger Delta region, the situation might get out of hand.

The body explained that unemployed youths can be useful and resource builders of FG initiated training through Agricultural sector that will create employment for them without writing applications.

The group therefore urged Federal Government to establish farms in the region, in collaboration with the AFAN.
