Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, President, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) on Friday commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its sensitisation campaign against fake dollar notes.

Gwadabe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that ABCON executives and the management of the EFCC had conducted public awareness among its members geared towards combating the menace of fake dollar notes.

NAN reports that the EFCC had on Thursday issued a warning to Nigerians to be wary of fake Dollar notes in circulation as the country prepares for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections slated for February 23, 2019.

The ABCON boss said that the scenario had been an ongoing phenomenon since last year.“A few of our members were affected and are being incidented with the relevant security agencies.“It is a good development now that the EFCC has now taken the campaign to the public domain to stem the activities of the fraudsters.

“We sincerely thank the EFCC authorities for this general public sensitisation as it will go a long way in protecting the huge investment of our members, in particular, and the image of the country, in general,’’ Gwadabe said.
