Experts have urged Nigerian youths to dedicate their time and resources to developing skills required to excel in their desired career of interest.

The experts spoke at the Revamp Conference organised by Transformation Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ibafo, Ogun state.

A human resource expert, Adebayo Akinloye, explained that negligence of further self-development after education restrains youths from accessing opportunities available for them to grow and impact the society.

“You need to keep developing your skills. Branding yourself matters; your carriage matters. Your certificate is never enough. Your attitude is a key factor to your altitude.”

Also, a life coach, Kayode Oyekanmi, who cited the book of Joshua in the Bible, advised youths to trust in God as the source of success in every area of life.

Oyekanmi, said success is good, “but good success is much better, because it comes from God.

“Information is vital in life because without it, there can’t be a revelation. Stop blaming the government, people and others for your failures in life. Vision is quite important in the journey of life.”

The life coach said no circumstance should be an excuse to give up on a worthy course, as “failure is part of the journey to success to those that plan well.”

A medical practitioner, Dr. Chika Aguboshim, warned youths against drug use and addiction, saying it is a deception sold as a solution to issues causing people depression.

Aguboshim, who noted that drug addiction is not the solution to economic and career troubles, advised youths to avoid companies that compromise their good characters.
