The General Officer Commanding 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major-Gen, Henry Edet and other security experts have urged Nigerians to assist the government in bringing to an end the ongoing insurgency in the Northeast.

Edet,who spoke at the opening ceremony of the SECUREX West Africa exhibition/conference in Lagos, praised internal security, but noted that there was also the need to meet the security needs of “our brothers in the Northeast”.

SECUREX West Africa exhibition is the largest commercial, homeland, cyber security, fire protection and safety exhibition in the West Africa sub-region.

ASIS Chairman, Mr Ubong King, thanked the Nigerian military for wining the war against terrorism, noting that militancy is growing because there is no more free money to share through amnesty programme.

King explained that Nigeria has become ripe for social conflicts because about 68 millions youths have been out of the labour market, adding that such youths are capable worsening arm robbery, cultism among social-vices trends.
