IN an effort to improve water supply in terms of quantity, quality and coverage in Kano State, the European Union (EU) and the Department For International Development (DFID) are partnering with the state government.

This was disclosed by the representative of DFID-SPARC, Mrs Bunmi Saidi, at a One-Day workshop on ‘Dissemination on Kano Water Policy and Law’.

The workshop was organised by the State Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development, with the support of EU-Water and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme II (WSSSRP II) at the Royal Tropicana Hotel, Kano.

Saidi said: “We have been supporting Kano State on water sector since 2013. Being a governance project, which aims at safeguarding water sector industry, we have special interest.  Though the programme was started by EU, but we still give Kano our helping hand in seeing to the success of the policy. Our concern is positioning the sector very well,” she emphasised.
