Entrepreneurship will reduce poverty, says Honeywell Boss
Honeywell Flour Mills Plc has urged youths to imbibe the spirit of entrepreneurship as this will make them self-dependent and further reduce poverty.
According to the company, unemployment will reduce considerably if most youths shun the quest for non-existing white collar jobs and rediscover themselves by tapping into their creative talents and improving on their inert abilities.
Innovation and Consumer Insight Manager, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, Mr. Lanre DaSilva, who stated this at the Honeywell Wheat Meal Cooking Competition held at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State camp, Iyana Ipaja, noted that every individual has innate skills which when properly harnessed will push them beyond their limitations.
He reiterated the company’s readiness to continue aligning with any cause to promote entrepreneurship as exemplified in the quantum support it is giving the NYSC and other similar youth oriented activities.
He advised youths to embrace entrepreneurship, saying the modern day economy is driven largely by handiworks demonstrated in small and medium scale enterprises.
He further stated that the competition is aimed at bringing out the unique skills of the corps members with a view to equipping them for future challenges. It will also endear them early enough to the company’s products by making them Honeywell Ambassadors.
