Electricity a major priority in Kebbi, affirms Bagudu

Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has restated the resolve of his administration to ensuring regular power supply to the entire state.

He made the remark, yesterday, while receiving the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, Mr. Chiedie Ugbo, at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

He told his visitor that the state has invested heavily in improving power supply to the capital, Birnin Kebbi, and environs, as well as Bunza, headquarters of Bunza Local Council.

He commended the power company for meeting set objectives.

Speaking earlier, Ugbo acknowledged the state’s strides in power supply. He told the governor that the Niger Delta Power Holding Company has installed 10 power plants in different parts of the country, eight of which are fully operational, indicating the readiness of the company to partner the state in maintaining regular supply to all communities.

Ugbo added that the company has deployed 20,000 solar power units to towns and villages.
