Elections: Group moves to curb thuggery among students
The campus to campus tour tagged “Students: Assets not thugs”, would enable the group sensitise students on dangers of engaging in electoral violence and malpractices during next year’s general elections.
Ilogebe said: “In the past, we recorded cases of young persons used as thugs by politicians. They were mostly students and when they engage in such activity, it destroys them and the society.”
Secretary General, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B, Vincent Ezenagu, said the association would ensure peace and create enabling environment for all and sundry, avoid hate speeches and enthrone good governance in the polity through active participation of students in the electoral process.
