The Commissioner of Police (CP), Ekiti State command, Bello Ahmed, has deployed security personnel to all Muslim praying grounds across the state to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

In a statement yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, Ahmed disclosed that the command would engage good security architecture to prevent violence prior to the electioneering campaigns in preparation for the July 14 governorship election by all the parties and ensure that the Sallah celebration was hitch-free.

The statement, signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Caleb Ikechukwu, also cautioned political thugs and miscreants to eschew violence during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, adding that the command would deal decisively with troublemakers.

However, the Police felicitates with Muslims across the state, urging them to pray for the success of the forthcoming governorship poll.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Police command has also ordered massive deployment of personnel across the state to ensure a hitch-free and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, Ali A. Janga, who gave the order yesterday in a statement signed by the PPRO, William Aya in Lokoja, said consequent upon the directive, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) led by its Commander, DSP Babagana Bukar, acting on intelligence, arrested one Ibrahim Haruna and Dahiru Abdullahi both from Kaduna State in Iyara, Ijumu Local Council of the state.

“They both confessed to various armed robbery attacks in different towns across the state,” he noted.
