Eighth Ondo assembly inaugurated, elects speaker, deputy speaker

Following a proclamation by the Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the Eight Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA) was yesterday inaugurated with the 26 members taking oath of office as lawmakers.

Earlier, the speaker of the former assembly, Hon Jumoke Akindele had dissolved the Seventh Assembly after valedictory speeches by members who gave themselves pass mark in the performance of their duties.

Following the inauguration of the assembly, Akindele was reelected to lead the assembly. Also elected is Hon Fatai Olotu as the Deputy Speaker of the assembly.

Addressing the former assembly members before the dissolution, Akindele said, “Seventh Assembly had not only seen, but also conquered; and scored the administration high in terms of performance”.
