Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki yesterday insisted that he will not give funds meant for development of the state to a few greedy individuals, who are trying to blackmail the state government. He stated this following the crisis rocking Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the party’s primaries ahead of the gubernatorial polls.

He disclosed this at the graduation ceremony of a new batch of teachers under the Edo Supporting Teachers to Achieve Results (Edo STAR), an arm of the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo-BEST) programme in Benin City.

Obaseki stressed that the APC was fully in support of his administration and that he was not standing alone with his decision to pursue sustainable development in the state. He added his administration was determined to use the scarce resources at the state disposal for development, especially in the education and health sectors.
