The Government of Abia State yesterday, said it would introduce a new “survival strategy “ next year for the state to stay afloat in the face of dwindling allocation from federation account.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said the strategy would involve the re-engineering of the tax system in a way to make all taxable adults to pay tax

The governor, who had interaction with newsmen in government House Umuahia yesterday, said under the new strategy, government would plug all leakages in the system.
 
“There are too many revenue leakages in the state, which diverted 70 per cent of government revenue before it got to its coffers.”
