Diarrhoea: Group tasks Nigerians on personal hygiene
A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Save the Children International, has advised Nigerians to maintain healthy environments and personal hygiene to prevent diarrhoea and other infectious diseases.
Speaking at an event in Bariga, Lagos, Chief of Party, SDI, Dr. David Atamewalen said proper hand washing could reduce up to 30 percent episodes of diarrhoea and a little less proportion of respiratory tract infections, especially in children.
He said when there is no immediate availability of clean water and soap to wash, use of hand sanitizer is advised as it goes a long way in preventing hand contamination and subsequent disease outbreak.
