STUDENTS of Delta State origin in tertiary institutions have been directed by the Executive Secretary of the state’s Bursary and
Scholarship Board, Comrade Elijah Ologe, to register with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to enable them access the 2014/2015 bursary.

Ologe, who spoke yesterday in Asaba when some students visited him in his office, advised them to ensure that they obtained their Bank Verification Number (BVN).

He emphasized that registration with NIMC and BVN were mandatory if the students were to benefit from the 2014/2015 bursary and subsequent
ones, adding that the board was determined to stamp out fraudulent activities which had bedeviled previous schemes.

Ologe disclosed that the board’s website will soon be open for qualified students to register for the scheme.

While advising students who are not indigenes to steer clear, he warned that the board would hand over any student caught trying to defraud it to law enforcement agents for necessary action.

The scribe disclosed that machinery had been put in place to track down students from other states who may want to benefit from the gesture.
