Danbazau, Shekarau deliver polling units to President Buhari

Nigeria’s interior minister Abdulrahman Lawan Danbazzau and former education minister Malam Ibrahim Shekarau have delivered their constituencies to president Muhammad Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The minister, who cast his vote at his 066 Race Cross primary polling unit, Giginyu ward in Nassarawa local council at about 9:30 am, demonstrated his political strength to ensure the victory for Buhari.

At the end of the sorting and counting of votes at the Minister’s ward, Buhari pulled 180 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar who polled 41.

The result of the senatorial and house of representatives seats at the 066 polling unit also shows wide margins victory in favour of the ruling APC.

In the Senate election, APC scored 136 against PDP candidate who had 68 votes. On house of representatives, APC pulled 123 votes to defeat PDP contestant who scored 61.

At Malam Shekarau’s 025 Giginyu primary polling unit, Giginyu ward, Buhari polled 217 votes to defeat the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku who polled 27 votes.

The two-time governor of Kano state, who is contesting Kano central senatorial district polled 188 to defeat Ali Madakin-Gini of the PDP who polled 84 votes.
