Cross River guber candidate promises to conduct LG election in six months
The Cross River State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator John Owan-Enoh has ended his campaign tour of the state’s northern Senatorial district with a promise to revive governance in the local government, if voted into office.
The 18 councils in the state have remained without elected or caretaker officers since the beginning of Governor Ben Ayade’s administration. But Owan-Enoh, while speaking at town hall meetings with traditional councils and stakeholders, promised to ensure local government council elections are held within six months after his election.
He also promised to end incessant communal clashes in most communities across the state by creating job opportunities.
“What the people need most is basic amenities; accessible roads to communities, good water, healthcare, electricity, security of life and property,” he noted.
