Some stakeholders of the Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged President Buhari to investigate the National Organising Secretary of the party, Senator Osita Izunaso, for his alleged role in the leadership crisis in the state.

The stakeholders also called for a review of the activities of the Niger Delta minister and reshuffling of the federal cabinet, to enable the party fish out persons working against its progress.

It would be recalled that squabbles among APC factions led to the rejection of the outcome of the February 24 congress that produced John Etim as state chairman. These allegations were made by a former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Ernest Irek and other statesmen, while speaking with journalists in Calabar at the weekend.

They stated: “Osita Izunaso is causing problems in Cross River State APC. We want to know what his personal interest is in Cross River. He has no right to decide who is to be chairman and who is not to be chairman. We blame the minister for all the problems the state party is facing.

“We are calling on President Buhari to investigate the National Organising Secretary’s interest in Cross River State leadership crisis.”Irek also appealed to Buhari to allow the committee headed by Chief Bola Tinubu to handle the crisis in the state chapter.
