‘Compensation over Abuja-Kaduna railway ready’

The Federal Government has said that monetary compensation of over N360million to the Daughters of Charity Catholic Church Hospital, Kubwa is ready for disbursement to the management.

The Federal Government has said that monetary compensation of over N360million to the Daughters of Charity Catholic Church Hospital, Kubwa is ready for disbursement to the management.

The Daughters of Charity Hospital located in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, is among the property located on the Abuja-Kaduna railway right of way. Hospital wards and convents for sisters managing the facility have been marked for demolition more than two years ago by the Chinese company, CCECC.

Briefing journalists in Abuja on the railway project from Abuja to Kaduna, Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi noted that the Federal Government was determined to speed up work on the project but had allowed the hospital ample time to relocate to enable the contractor complete the realigning of the rail line.

Amaechi explained that government is passionate about the plight of the patients and staff of the hospital and was working round the clock to ensure that compensation claims are paid on time, noting that the Right Of Occupancy for the hospital’s new site has been delivered to the management of Daughters of Charity Catholic hospital.
