Preparations are in top gear to ensure that the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office on May 29 is hitch-free.

Preparations are in top gear to ensure that the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office on May 29 is hitch-free.

The Presidential Inauguration Committee yesterday inspected the Eagle Square, Abuja, where the ceremony will hold. Speaking during the inspection tour, the Chairman of the inauguration Committee and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, said everything necessary was being put in place to ensure a successful inauguration ceremony.

The SGF said: “I think we are good to go. The military formation is doing some dress rehearsal as to the activities that will take place and according to every detail. “We are having a mock trial of people standing in for them for the swearing-in-ceremony, the lowering of the flag and having the newly sworn-in president go around in a motorcade to receive salutation and cheers.”

On security, Mustapha noted that the committee was taking note of all the minute details to ensure that there are no lapses.
We don’t have much challenge and we will be on alert. We have a security committee and they will ensure that they are on top of the game,” he added.

According to him, Nigerians are excited about the leadership of the President for the past four years, adding that everyone would work towards ensuring a ceremony free of trouble.
