Commission promotes four CPs to AIG

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of four commissioners of police (CPs) to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of four commissioners of police (CPs) to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

A statement issued by the Assistant Director Press, Ikechukwu Ani said the Chairman of the Commission charged the newly promoted senior police officers to be more committed in the discharge of their duties to the nation, noting that the government’s gesture to them should be reciprocated “by redoubling their efforts in the service of their fatherland.”

Those promoted included the former CP Jigawa State Police, Henry Adebayo Fadairo; Pius U. Imue who until now was Commissioner of Police, Railway Command; Felix G. Ogundeji, Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, Force Headquarters and Ezekiel O. Zang, Commissioner of Police, Air Wing, Force Headquarters.

While indicating that the decision of the commission had been communicated to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris for implementation, the statement said a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Commission, Musa Istifanus, noted that individual letters for the promotions would be forwarded to the IGP in due course for onward transmission to the affected officers.
