Clerics want FG To support Amotekun

The General Overseer, Christ Apostolic Church (WOSEM), Lagos Zone, Pastor Paul Obadare has urged the Federal Government to support the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun.

Obadare allayed fears over the outfit’s mode of operation because of the inclusion of existing security outfits: Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and others. 

Obadare made this known during the announcement of a week-long revival in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of Koseunti Signs and Wonders, with the theme God of our Fathers, held recently in Lagos. 

He said: “The issue of Amotekun is heating up the polity. The greatest threat to security is security itself. We have witnessed, for some years now, that our security outfits have been compromised as attested to by the Inspector General of Police when he said some fake policemen actually sew police uniform and wore it for elections.

“We cannot feel safe with the present security outfit. The best that can happen is to begin to resort to self-help within the ambit of the law…” 

Speaking also, the founder, Faith Revival Apostolic Church (FRAC), Apostle Paul Adenuga, who also called for Federal Government’s support for the security outfit, said: “I also join my colleague in calling for government’s full support of Amotekun.

He urged the President, pastors and others occupying leadership positions to lead by examples to nip the issue of insecurity in the bud.
