Pastor in charge of Gethsemane Prayer Ministries, Victory Chapel, Ibadan, Taiwo Durosaro yesterday cautioned Nigerians against falling cheap to fake prophesies flying around in the country as the year 2020 approaches. Durosaro, who expressed worries that evil minded persons were already scheming to deceive believers with fake declarations as the year ends, said, “The surest prophecies for the year are already in the Holy Bible and the additions are what you determine to achieve for yourself.

“As a child of God, you need to trust fully and obey. If you do these things, no power of hell can stop you from being fulfilled. It is surprising that we are hearing the kinds of prophecies that some people give at this time. We hear people give prophecy that Davido will divorce his wife. “When God starts talking about David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido and Whizkid to a country with more than 200 million people, it suggests that God does not have any job. Our God is not like that.”

Reading from the book of Luke chapter 14, verse 28-30, he said, “One of our problems as black people is that we don’t plan. We believe that what will be will be, but I want to say that you can determine what you want for yourself in the coming year. “I pray that the year 2020, will not be hostile to you; it will be friendly to you. If you don’t know where you are going, people will take you to where they want you to be.”

Speaking on the best approach to life, he said, “The best thing is to do a personal review of the outgoing year. International organisations will shut down and review their activities. Black people lack ability to plan. “Review your life for necessary adjustments where you did not get it right. Review your spiritual life. Review your finances; perhaps you invested wrongly. If you don’t have plans for your life and money, some people have plans for you and your money. Some people will come with juicy, but fake packages to swindle you. If you are not careful, you will be duped.

“Review your relationship with people. Attend programmes that will better your life. Are there people you need to move closer to or there are people you need to move away from. “Write down your plans for 2020 and be specific. Present the plans before God to make it work. Don’t just say I want to be great; spell out how. Maybe you want to take a new course or training.

“I don’t need a prophet to tell me that something good is coming for me in 2020. People should do different things in the coming year and do things differently.”He lamented that these days, more people are happy to identify with the devil, adding, “We see the emergence of false prophets. A musician once said she belongs to sinners’ chapel. “People are now proud of evil identities. Put God and the things of God first in your life and you shall experience a positive turnaround in 2020.”
