Civilian JTF Arrests Eight Terror Suspects In Borno

MEMBERS of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have arrested eight suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Mussa village of Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, after a six-hour patrol of adjoining communities on Thursday.

The arrests, Chairman of CJTF, Yohana Bitrus disclosed in a telephone interview yesterday in Maiduguri that eight Boko Haram militants were nabbed in a coordinated joint patrols with local hunters in the communities that were attacked by insurgents last month.

Another CJTF member in Mussa village, Apagu Istifanus also confirmed the arrests of eight suspects, adding that six of them are from Gwoza town, 145 kilometres from the village.

“Yes we arrested eight suspects in Mussa around 4pm yesterday (Thursday). We interrogated them, but they told us that they are tired; they don’t want to fight jihad again. But we handed over to the military in Mubi, Adamawa State for further interrogation and investigations,” said Istifanus.
