YOUTHS leader and rights activist in Kaduna State, Dr John Danfulani, has criticised the State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for planning to host a musical jamboree, that would gulp a whooping N219.4 million Naira. He, therefore, called for the cancellation of the fanfare.

Danfulani, who is also one of the leaders in Awon village of Kachia Local Government Area, warned El-Rufai against wasteful spending of the State resources when he said; “it has come to my knowledge that your government is organising a musical concert in Kaduna very soon. The Kaduna musical concert is solely an initiation of Kaduna State Government under the guidance and command of the Chief of Staff to Kaduna State Governor”.

In a letter addressed to Governor El-Rufai, Danfulani said; “Kaduna State doesn’t have a single cause to stage such an ostentatious, elaborate ,and expensive musical concert that will squeeze N219.4 million from the taxpayers. You know, as well as I do, that this musical jamboree has nothing to do with the welfare of the common man, who is struggling to make ends meet”.

Continuing, he said, “This hedonistic venture wasn’t enshrined in any proviso of the social contract entered with the good people of Kaduna State on 11th April 2015 “Kaduna City has become a city of garbage, with all attendant consequences to peoples’ health and environmental hazard lurking at the corner. Kaduna State under your leadership has salaries arrears owed state workers, running into billions of naira. Projects your government met have been put on halt.
