Children immunised against polio in Adamawa

Adamawa State Ministry of Health has said about 1.1 million children were immunised against polio in a four-day exercise.

The ministry’s information Officer, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed said the immunisation exercise was aimed at vaccinating all children under age five, whether previously immunised or not.

Commending donor agencies and the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Halima Atiku for their determination to eradicate polio, which he described as deadly. He said the state is recording positive result in recent times.

The Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Authority, Yola-South Local Government, Abubakar Yahya said a total of 532 personnel participated in the immunisation programme in the local government.
