Kingmakers of Isolo Community in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have urged the governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to prevail on the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, not to plunge the community into crisis.

This was due to the raging kingship crisis in Isolo community, where the people yesterday rejected the installation of Prince Edward Kolawole Adewole as the Osolo of Isolo.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, at the weekend, had installed Adewole as the new Osolo, an action, which the lawmakers said contradicted a state government circular with reference number CD/C43/5 Vol XXII/349; and dated 27th April, 2018.

The kingmakers, in a petition to Akeredolu, accused the Deji of violating the government circular issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. According to them, the circular stipulates that appointment of minor chiefs should be suspended in the state pending the release of Government White paper.

The Isolo kingmakers who signed the petition were: High Chief I.E Adetoyinbo, the Elemo of Isolo; High Chief Ebenezer Ogunjemilusi, the Sao of Isolo; High Chief Hezekiah Babatunde, the Olusunla of Isolo; Chief J Adisa, the Aruwajoye of Isolo.

Others were: Chief A. Adeleke, the Obaseye of Isolo and Chief Akosile Fagite, the Agbaakin of Isolo. They emphasized that the stool of the Deji was still being challenged at the Supreme Court by the Osolo chieftaincy.
