As the outpouring of grief as well as tributes continue which includes a special Federal Executive Council (FEC) session today for the late Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, James Ocholi who along with his wife and son died in a road crash on Sunday, the Federal Government has announced automatic employment at the Federal Ministry of Justice for Aaron, his eldest son .

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) who disclosed this when he paid a special condolence visit to the Kado Estate residence of the bereaved family at about 3:00pm on Tuesday, to convey his and President Muhammadu Buhari’s condolences added that Aaron’s other siblings would enjoy scholarships for their educational pursuits, courtesy of the Federal Government who has pledged to cushion the effect of the loss of their parents.

In a related development, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and wife of President Buhari, Aisaha, have paid glowing tribute to the late James Ocholi.

The Vice President who arrived the Kado Estate residence of the former minister, was very emotional as he chose his words carefully.

Addressing the children, ‎Osinbajo described their father as a committed Christian and patriot who was always ready to make sacrifice for the cause he believed in.

While signing the condolence register, Osinbajo said: “My brother learned and spiritual, your memorial will live on and will be source of pride and joy to us all. May the Lord comfort these young children and give us cause to rejoice in them, Amen”.

Speaking further, the Vice President said: “We have lost someone we held in high esteem who was well respected. It is unfortunate that this happened.”

Aaron in his reply said though they miss their parents greatly, they are not without hope. He stressed that the four children left behind will strive to become what their parents taught them to be in life.
He said: “We are not hopeless, we are really proud of the man he was. We continue to pray to God to comfort us. We will not feel dejected. We will strive to become in life, what he always wanted us to be and taught us to be. The First Lady also came here yesterday and assured us we are not alone.”

He expressed the gratitude of his family, particularly his siblings to, President Buhari, Osinbajo and the entire nation for the show of love and the support they have received since the death of their parents and brother.

Aisha Buhari wrote on the condolence register: “It is a terrible shock to us but we pray for the soul of the departed to rest in peace. May the Almighty God condole the family.”

Sad but God knows best. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. And God grant the living family members the fortitude to bear the loss. The federal government have done well giving them scholarships and a job.
