President Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon to sign the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria Bill into law to enhance the healthcare delivery system in the country.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), through its branch chairman in Oyo State, Mr. Abiodun Ajibade, made the call yesterday while addressing the press at PSN Office, Molete, Ibadan, during the ongoing Pharmacy Week 2019, which ends tomorrow.

He said the bill, which was passed into law by the 8th National Assembly, was still awaiting the president’s assent.

When the bill is signed into law, it would help in reducing brain drain in the pharmaceutical industry, which has resulted in a shortage of pharmacists in Nigeria, he added.
