The ruling All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Festus Keyamo said Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari and his vice Yemi Osinbajo will Wednesday participate in a televised presidential townhall programme.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and the Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, who are also the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Presidential elections will, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 8:00 pm (Nigerian time) participate in a live televised two-hour presidential town-hall programme,” Keyamo said in a statement on Tuesday.

The town hall, a co-production between Daria Media and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the run-up to the February 16 presidential election, hosts every Wednesday until the presidential election is held.

The series which launched a week ago had in attendance the candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu and his running mate, Umma Getso.

The programme will be moderated by Kadaria Ahmed and broadcast live on NTA, and on all Radio Nigeria stations, as well as other partner TV stations. They’ll also be streamed live online at dtv.media.

Nigeria will be going to poll exactly a month from now to vote in a new president.

Buhari is seeking re-election. His major contender in the forthcoming election is the opposition presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Abubakar, a former vice president during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration from 1999 till 2007, is contesting the office of the president for the fourth time.
