Buhari harps on teamwork to defeat corruption, security challenges

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that for Nigeria to succeed in its war against corruption and address the multiple security challenges, there must be teamwork of the various leaders.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that for Nigeria to succeed in its war against corruption and address the multiple security challenges, there must be teamwork of the various leaders.

Buhari who spoke yesterday in Yola while declaring open an anti- corruption summit organized by the Adamawa State government, noted members of the legislature, local and state governments must join hands with the Federal Government to fight the common enemies.

He pointed out that governors and head of local governments must be responsible in the management of their resources. They must give detail account to their people, this , he said would build confidence between the leaders and followers.

“Fighting corruption need a team work of legislatures and other arms of government, groups and individuals must also be involved for successful battle against the menace called corruption,” he stated.

The president maintained that his vision to wipeout corruption in the country cannot be sacrificed on the alter of politics, noting that public interest and national unity is the main target of his administration.

Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow said that the anti- corruption summit is to compliment Buhari’s administration’s fight against corruption and take the battle to the grassroots.

Bindow who commended the president for his efforts to recaptured north- east region from the claws of Boko Haram, noted that Adamawa State was at the verge of been completely captured when Buhari took over the mantle of leadership.
