Buhari flays desperate Nigerians seeking menial jobs abroad
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said the sheer desperation that makes Nigerian youths dare both the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea to take up menial jobs in Europe was hurting the pride of the country.
During an audience with the outgoing High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia, Peingeondjabi Shipoh, at the State House, Buhari said there were vast opportunities for the two nations to exploit in areas like agriculture and trade.
He recalled the sacrifices made for the freedom of Namibia, particularly by the administrations of Generals Murtala Muhammed and Olusegun Obasanjo.
The envoy noted that Nigeria had become a second home for him and family having spent four years here.
