President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi as the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

A statement from the office of the Secretary To Government Of The Federation, (OSGF) said the appointment is with effect from October 17, and will last for a period of five years in the first instance.

The president also appointed Mr. Banire Muiz (SAN) as part time chairman of the asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) for a
period of five (5) years in the first instance.

The President also made eleven other appointments, cutting across the oil, education and judiciary sectors with Mr Clement Isong replacing Mr Thomas Obafemi Olawore at the board of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).

According to Olusegun Adekunle, permanent Secretary (General Services Office) in the OSGF, the president enjoined the new appointees to serve the nation with all sense of responsibility, honesty, diligence and promote good governance in the discharge of their duties.
