President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday commended Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) for donating N200 million to assist in combating the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday commended Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) for donating N200 million to assist in combating the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country.

While commending such public-spiritedness to other well-to-do individuals and groups, the President recalled that the organisation had donated N1 billion to tackle the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Africa in the past.

He said, “Hand in hand, standing shoulder to shoulder, we can confront our challenges as a country. This is a path for us all to follow as people.”

He used the opportunity to restate his earlier charge that Nigerians should take necessary hygiene precautions, rather than panic about the Covid-19, after the discovery of the index case in the country last week.

The President said government at various levels was poised to ensure that the country and its citizens remain safe from the virus, now spreading globally.
