Brewery company wins best company in responsible consumption, production

Nigerian Breweries Plc has been named the Best Company in Responsible Consumption and Production in 2016. The company clinched the honours at the 2016 edition of the critically acclaimed Nigeria CSR Social Enterprise Report and Awards (SERA). The Company also won the second runner up position in the Most Outstanding Company of the Decade category.

While receiving the awards on behalf of the company, Sustainability and Regulatory Relationships Manager, Mr. Edem Vindah commended award organisers for the recognitions and said the awards were an attestation to the company’s business philosophy that has made it maintain its leadership role in the industry for 70 years.

“For 70 years, Nigerian Breweries has pursued a philosophy of winning with Nigeria and because of this philosophy, we consider ourselves as development partners with Nigeria. Nigerian Breweries will continue to live up to expectations of being a responsible corporate citizen. The awards are worthy recognitions and incentives for us to do more.”

In 2014, the company was named the Overall Winner, Most Socially Responsible Company in Nigeria. In that year, it pulled a total of four awards, winning The Best Company in Infrastructure, Best Company in Supply Chain, CSR Practitioner of the Year and the overall Best Company in CSR confirming its position as the most socially responsible corporate citizen in Nigeria.

The 2016 edition of the Social Enterprise Report and Awards – SERA is the Legacy and 10th anniversary of the award considered the leading Corporate Social Responsibility award in Nigeria.
