Botswana begins water saving campaign
Botswana’s Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Kitso Mokaila, has inaugurated a water saving campaign entitled ‘Somarela Thothi’ in local parlance or Save a Drop to reduce waste of water in the country.
Performing the launch on Tuesday in Botswana Mokaila urged his compatriots to change their habits toward the use of water in order to conserve water.
“Somarela Thothi is a project that calls for the reduction of water loss and would be implemented in Gaborone area between now and the end of 2015.
“There is too much usage and waste of water in schools, hospitals and government buildings hence the debate to change building standards,” Mokaila said.
