Borno State Government has prayed the European Union (EU) to extend the completion duration for their projects in the North East.

The Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR), Mustapha Gubio, made the demand during the Technical Implementation Committee meeting in Maiduguri at the weekend.

Gubio, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Abba Yusuf, said: “We’re planning possible extension and completion of various projects in the state”.He added that inputs would be provided by the programme steering committee.

The team leader, Support to Coordination of EU-funded intervention in Borno (SCEUB), Kabiru Abass, disclosed: “Inaccessibility to project locations caused by security challenges have also contributed to delays in the implementation process.”
