Boko Haram: Obiano Commends FG For Relocation Of Suspects
THE Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano yesterday commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the cooperation in relocating the 47 Boko Haram suspects from the state. Governor Obiano also praised Anambra State people for remaining calm throughout the duration of their detention, saying it called for patience on the citizens of the state.
Addressing journalists at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Obiano said the suspects were transferred out of the state on Tuesday, even as he charged them to continue giving their support to the state and Federal Government.
Meanwhile, calm has returned to Ekwulobia community in Aguata Local Government Area of the state where the suspects were detained, as people expressed joy over the development. The suspects were brought to Ekwulobia minimum prisons in June, which led to protests by traders and people from various groups in Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi, during which period economic activities were brought to a standstill in the region.
A visit to the prisons facility yesterday showed a relaxed security presence unlike before while the gate of the prison was also open. However, people who spoke to our reporter said they could not tell where the prisoners were relocated to, but said they were happy with the new development.
A native of the town, Chiedu Akam said people were happy and will now sleep with their two eyes closed, adding, ‘It is a welcome development and I expressed my gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Obiano for taking such decision now.

can we also relocate all igbo criminals held in prisons across the country to igbo land? the brazenness of the tribalism being manifested by the igbos on this issue is only matched by the thoughtlessness behind their demands
