Benue State Executive Council has approved the retirement of eleven (11) Permanent Secretaries, thus directing the state Head of Service, HoS to effect their retirement with immediate effect.

The affected Permanent Secretaries are Joseph Okoh, Steve Ato, Igbalumun Tsegba, Vincent Shaibu, John Adole, Ashen Shambe, Peter Torjun, Akperan Annune, Godwin Ejimbe and Terna Iorkyaan while Eugene Ivase has been redeployed to the Federal Civil Service.

Addressing journalists shortly after the state exco meeting, Commissioner for Information, Ode Age said the retirement of the permanent secretaries was based on their individual records of service.

The state executive council also approved the discontinuation of the SURE- P in the state in line with the Federal Government decision and directed the commissioner of finance to submit a comprehensive report on SURE-P.
