Bello denies owing 38 months’ salaries
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State yesterday faulted the widely held view that his administration was owing civil servants 38 months’ salaries.
He said that he had cleared all outstanding workers’ salaries and pensioners’ claims in the state before August 28, this year, in spite that he inherited four months’ salaries indebtedness from his predecessor, Idris Wada, in 2016.
Bello spoke at the end of an interactive session held at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) between his rivals at the recently-held governorship primaries and the Adams Oshiohmole-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
