Bauchi sacks principal as ICPC returns diverted tractors
Bauchi State Government has fired a school principal for allegedly starving students of General Hassan Usman Katsina Unity College, Bauchi.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, said the principal and two storekeepers were shortchanging the students.
“They were seen serving foods that should be given to 350 students to over 1,200 last weekend,” Tilde said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has handed over six tractors recovered from Senator Isa Misau to the rightful beneficiaries.
While addressing newsmen yesterday, the ICPC commissioner in the state, Abubakar Dutsinma, said the release of the tractors followed a directive from the chairman of the Commission, Prof. Bolaji Owosanoye.
