Former Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Dr. Olatokunbo Awolowo- Dosunmu, will on Sunday, June 9, 2019 deliver a lecture at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral, Ikeja, Lagos.

The lecture, titled: God In My Life, would commence by 4pm, while the quarterly series is being organised under the auspices of the Torch Bearers Society.

Awolowo-Dosunmu, 71 received her primary education at the United Missionary College Demonstration School, Ibadan, from where she proceeded to Saint Anne’s School, also in Ibadan, where she took her West African Examinations Council’s Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.

She left for the United Kingdom for her pre-university qualification of Advanced Level General Certificate of Education (A-GCE) and later gained admission into Bristol University to study medicine and graduated in 1972.

She later returned to Nigeria after few years of private medical practice in the UK and in 1992, five years after the death of her father.

Olatokunbo, with some admirers of her father, co-founded the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation as a non-profit, non-partisan research organisation dedicated to generating ideas for national development.

She served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Netherlands from January 2000 to July 2003 before returning to her profession as an occupational health physician.

During her sojourn in the UK, which lasted over 20 years, she attended the Church of England and later served as a Dearney Synod delegate at All Saints’ Church, Loughton, England.

Upon her return to Nigeria, she became a member of the Young Omen Christina Association and Women Auxiliary Society of Our Savior’s Anglican Church, Ikenne. Ogun State

She is Bishop’s Synod to the Remo Diocese of the Anglican Communion, a member if the Agape Christian Sister’s Society and the Anglican Christian Fellowship, both of the AVMCC, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

On arrival she will be received at the foreground of AVMCC, she will be received by Ayo Rotibi and Engr. Sola George, president and vice president of the Torch Bearers Society and ushered into the cathedral sanctuary.
