The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has promised to restore peace and security in the state if elected president.

He pledged to sit down with traditional and religious leaders, as well as communities to ensure that peace and unity are reinstated, so that the state will continue to be known as the economic hub in the Middle Belt.

He said this, yesterday evening, when he addressed a crowd of supporter at the Polo Field, Jos, in continuation of his campaign.

He explained that the PDP government would ensure the provision of jobs, while those who could not work will be empowered to run their own businesses.

Meanwhile Atiku Abubakar will tomorrow, January 14 storm Ekiti State with other party leaders in continuation of his campaign tour across the country.

Director, Media and Publicity Ekiti State Atiku/Obi PDP Campaign Council, Lere Olayinka, in a statement, yesterday, said the campaign train would stop at Ikere-Ekiti before moving to Ado Ekiti, the state capital where homage will be paid to traditional rulers at the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe.

Olayinka, who said PDP members and supporters were expected at the State Pavilion, NTA Road, Ado Ekiti, from 9am, explained that the campaign train would also stop at Akure, Ondo State on Monday, before moving to Osun State on Tuesday; Lagos State on 17th and Ogun State on 19th.

He urged the people of the state to troop out to give rousing welcome to the PDP presidential candidate, who he declared the “next president of Nigeria by the grace of God.”
