Atiku loses aide Pariya
Former Nigeria vice president Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday lost one of his aides Umar Pariya.
Pariya died in Dubai. The cause of his death is yet to be disclosed.
“Umar Pariya was much more than a longstanding aide to me,” Atiku said in a tweet.
“He was incredibly loyal and qualified as a member of my family.”
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu said he was saddened by the news of Pariya’s death.
“I knew him very well. He was very cerebral,” Tinubu said.
He described the late Pariya as an excellent human being with a welcoming and accommodating spirit.
Former House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara also condoled with Atiku and Pariya’s family.
“Undoubtedly, you have lost a loyal, hardworking and committed associate who stood by and with you in all circumstances,” Dogara tweeted.
