At NCGF summit, Nigerians, Christians get nuggets on greatness

For Nigerians to avoid failure and move to greater heights, there is need for greater emphasis on success-driven approach in all their endeavours.

A Supreme Court Justice, John Inyang Okoro, stated this yesterday in Owerri, Imo State, stressing that Nigerians and especially Christians, should understand the key principles to greatness rather than murmur when things go wrong.

He stated this in a keynote address at the 43rd Annual National Conference and 21st anniversary of the Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF), with the theme: Divine Principles of Good Success.

His words: “Failure is not our portion. Bad success is not our portion.

We must not only follow divine principles of good success, but we must also teach our children and everyone around us to do so.

“We must use these principles to create a culture and template for success that our world should follow.”

He said one of the antidotes to the challenges facing the country was for Nigerians to have a change of attitude through studying, meditating, understanding, thinking positively and productively and getting divine direction.

Okoro also advised that Nigerians should embrace mentorship, use their time effectively, learn to forgive and stay focused, among other positive attitude.

The event featured a political summit session attended by the Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Francis Ezeonu, National President of NCGF, Professor Charles Adisa, a former national president of NCGF, Prof. Vincent Iyawe and his wife, Helen.

Others are a female presidential aspirant under the KOWA party, Professor Remi Shonaiya, Dr. John Dara and former Provost of the then Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Dan Onwukwe.

Okoro urged Nigerians to begin to do the right things always in order to achieve good results.

Speaking, Adisa reminded his audience that after NCGF’s economic conference last year, the nation exited economic recession.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to overhaul the nation’s security architecture to enhance safety of lives and property and end the killings in parts of the country.
