ASUU tasks IG on arrest of member’s abductors
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Branch, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and Director of State Security Services (SSS) to step up action to expose the abductors of Prof. A. O Adegbehingbe.
Adegbehingbe, a professor of Surgery at the university, was kidnapped last week at Apomu axis of the Ife-Ibadan expressway and had since been released after an undisclosed amount was paid as ransom.
The union, at a press conference yesterday, tasked all the security operatives and traditional rulers on security of the society, saying kidnapping which was uncommon in Osun State, had become a regular occurrence.
